QNAP Systems announced the official release of QVR Recording Vault 1.0.0, the production-ready version of its license-free active backup solution for surveillance recordings. Following a successful beta phase, QVR Recording Vault 1.0.0 brings enhanced stability, optimized performance, and expanded features to ensure reliable, scalable, and cost-effective backup management for surveillance video data across enterprises and multi-site deployments.

New features in QVR Recording Vault 1.0.0

  • Added Support for QVR Surveillance: Backup capabilities are now extended beyond QVR Pro and QVR Elite, integrating seamlessly with QNAP’s latest QVR Surveillance software for long-term recording storage.
  • Available for QuTS hero: The software can be installed on both QTS and QuTS hero NAS platforms, providing broader deployment flexibility.
  • Metadata Bug Fixes: Several issues related to metadata handling have been resolved to improve video indexing accuracy and ensure stable long-term archive operations.

“Videos are only valuable if they are preserved,” said Pac Shih, Product Manager at QNAP. “QVR Recording Vault enforces retention-ready backup policies for surveillance recordings and simplifies centralized management, helping organizations cut complexity and cost.”
