HONOR launches the 2024 Magic Moments Awards

HONOR recently announced the commencement of the 2024 HONOR Magic Moments Awards, the fourth annual global mobile photography competition hosted by the brand.

Featuring six categories with 59 available award designations: landscape photography, portraits, snapshots, videos, group photos, and more, the competition encourages everyone to capture humanistic sentiments through their phones. An expert panel of judges consisting of seven reputed industry veterans will assess the submissions. Individual participants stand a chance to win up to USD 15,000 worth of prizes from an overall prize pool exceeding USD 100,000. From April 6 until August 6, photography enthusiasts worldwide are invited to participate in the competition by submitting their entries through the official competition website or social media platforms. Winners will be announced this September.

“The HONOR Magic Moments Awards was established in 2021 to serve as a global platform for mobile photography exchange and to inspire users to showcase their creativity, and provide an equal platform for everyone from professional photographers to everyday smartphone users,” said George Zhao, CEO of HONOR Device Co., Ltd.“Since the first edition three years ago, the HONOR Magic Moments Awards has received over a million submissions from 51 countries and regions, with a total of 320,000 participants across the globe, expanding the vast possibilities for mobile photography.”

Winners Chosen by Photography Experts from Around the World
This year’s awards feature a panel of esteemed judges from diverse fields of photography. These experts will combine their extensive knowledge and expertise in various aspects of image capturing, expression, and technical application to select the most captivating, high-quality works that epitomize the essence of photography.

The judging panel includes:
• Zhao Yingxin, Editor-of-Chief of China Photo Press and the first female director of photography operations in Olympic history
• Jassim Rabia Al-Awadhi, Chairman of the Emirates Photography Association and Founder of the UAE Photography Club
• Ale Megale, LUX Audience Awards winner
• Mathieu Courdesses, a renowned French wildlife photographer
• Stefano Guindani, an accomplished Italian fashion photographer and artist
• Samuel Deng, CTO of HONOR
• Hou Weilong, HONOR Technical Expert in Imaging

Coveted Prizes Stemming from a Generous Reward Pool
This year’s competition debuts with six categories – On the Way, We, Protection, The Moment, The Story and Video – encouraging smartphone photographers to harness the power of technology to capture authentic human stories and emotions across different themes. Among them, the Protection category welcomes entries that are shot on any smartphone documenting human efforts to create a sustainable future.

With a total of 59 prizes to entice participants, the HONOR Magic Moments Awards offers a total prize pool surpassing USD 100,000, including USD 15,000 for the Photographer of the Year. There will be one champion, one first runner-up, and one-second runner-up for each category, and each of them will be rewarded with USD 5,000, USD 3,000, and USD 1,000, respectively. Additionally, there will be 20 winners selected for both the Recommendation Award and the Excellence Award regardless of categories, with winners receiving the HONOR Magic6 Pro and the latest HONOR N Series products.

From April 6 until August 6, photography enthusiasts can submit their entries on the HONOR official website (https://www.honor.com/global/magic-moments-awards/). The submission platform will open on April 6 at 00:00 (UTC/ GMT +8). They can also participate in the 2024 HONOR Magic Moments Awards by posting on social media channels and including #HONORMagicMoments in their captions.
