Saudi-based Mush Social secures $1.2 million in pre-seed

Saudi-based Mush Social has secured $1.2 million in its pre-seed funding round, led by Nifal Consulting, with participation from Nahr Al-Jazeera Holding and various angel investors. This investment sets Mush Social on a path for growth within the competitive social media landscape.

Mush Social is building a distinct social media experience by enabling users to earn interactive points, which unlock special benefits and boost engagement. Additionally, its unique “Map” feature allows users to own virtual assets that are expected to generate financial returns, increasing the value of users’ time and activity on the platform.

Although currently positioned at the lower end among 109 competitors, Mush Social operates alongside established names such as MyHeritage, Cluster, and Geni. Among these, 10 competitors have raised funding, 5 have exited, and the collective industry has attracted over $120 million in investments across 34 rounds from 42 investors. Notably, five companies in this space have also been acquired, underscoring the dynamic and high-stakes nature of this market.

Founder Abdulhadi Al-Asimi stated that the new funding will support the development of advanced technologies to enhance user value through meaningful interactions, as well as the creation of a differentiated tech product with global ambitions.
